Differin 5% Benzoyl Peroxide Review

Everyone knows that Differin products are an affordable line that are meant to help acne-prone skin. My own acne-prone skin is exactly my reason testing it. The first few weeks of using the 5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser were used only a few times a week as I noticed that my skin became mildly dry after each application, which is to be expected when beginning any new active. However, my acne's inflammation also began to decrease with each application. After those initial weeks, my skin grew accustomed to the benzoyl peroxide and the dryness completely disappeared!

I have used 10% benzoyl peroxide that was too difficult to try accustoming my skin to it, but the 5% is gentle enough that it did not damage my sensitive skin barrier whilst still having great results. Truth be told, I have used this product for at least a year and that is after trying dozens of other cleansers before and after trying the 5% benzoyl peroxide. It's not a miracle product but it offers some gentle relief from active acne, has a smoothing effect on the skin, and offers a good cleanse.

This cleanser is not foaming, but a cream so it leaves less dryness than other acne products. A 4oz bottle typically lasts me 2 months with generous nightly applications. If you are looking for a good, safe acne cleanser, the Differin 5% Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser is more than worth a shot.

If the 5% is not strong enough for those without sensitive skin, the 10% Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser is also available on Amazon.
